More and more Americans are comfortable with the idea of getting back to social activities they once enjoyed.
Americans are hungry for a taste of normalcy with a large majority (71%) already comfortable dining at restaurants, and as reported covid cases are continuing to decrease in most areas, percentages of those already comfortable doing things that require them to be around other people tick up:
- DINE IN: 71%, up 28 points from July 2020, +8 points from just a month ago
- FLYING: 60% up 33 points from July 2020, +10 points from April 2021
- PATRONIZE IN-PERSON AT A BAR: 51% up 25 points from July 2020, +8 from last month
- BIG CROWD: 46% up 26 points from July 2020, +12 points from April 2021
Compared to July of last year, these increases are greatest among the youngest age cohorts (up 30+ points) and the oldest age groups for dining and flying. Bars and big crowds are scenarios where there’s a bit more fluctuation, and less of the oldest age groups keen on being in these places.
